[these are only approximate poll results, as the Mister Poll software doesn't display numbers to the public, i.e votes for each album. It just displays rank order. Also the poll closed on Thursday, when the results were counted.]

310's seventh and latest album, Sixes and Sevens, pushes their vision to sharper and funkier extremes. Combining guitar, violin, keys, and found sound, blended with their hallmark blitz of beats, 310 have orchestrated one of their strongest and deepest albums to date. The Guardian have commenced an ambitious project: Music 1000 albums | Music | Guardian Unlimited Music

Welcome to our special project in which the Guardian's music team - after much debate, some of it bitter - suggest albums that you should listen to before you shuffle off your mortal coil. What it's not is the best 1000 albums of all time. Instead, it's a cross-genre, cross-era look at some great music.

Guardian will providing an A to Z guide to all the albums online as well as print over 5 days. Part 2 will be on Monday.

MIC’s Norwegian branch Ballade, which is generally regarded the most thorough of Norwegian web-based music media, has developed a canonical list of Norwegian jazz albums. Enrolling more than a dozen of Norway’s most influential and august jazz critics, and having them produce a subjective ranking of the twenty most important albums –which were then computed into a single list - has resulted in a non-definitive but illuminating catalogue, according to Ballade’s editor.
